Beth Walden-Fisher
The Rev. Walden-Fisher is married to Andrew Fisher. They have five-year-old twins, Emory and Rachel.
Most recently, Beth has been the Director of Christian Educator and Youth Services on the staff of the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Indiana.
Andrew has been managing the family farm in Nabb, IN. Beth had formerly been the (solo) Pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Nabb. Beth is also a former
member of the Peace Corps, and has served as a hospice chaplain.
Presbyterians like their ministers to be well-educated, and Beth qualifies. She graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 1998.
She also holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from Texas State University, and a Bachelors degree from Abilene Christian University.
Modest About Her Many Awards and Accomplishments
Beth has written curriculum for our denomination, including portions of the “We Believe” material, under the titles “Checklist of Life,” and “Keep it Simple and Sacred.”
This year, she received a competitive grant through the Austin College of Pastoral Leaders to study Creativity and Embodiment. She is slated to lead a workshop at the
National Presbyterian Evangelism Conference in Nashville this summer on “Body Prayer, Uniting Body and Spirit for Health, Fulfillment, and Fun.”
She has also written material and done editing for the inter-denominational “Thoughtful Christian” curriculum series.
Fortunate to Have the Fishers
Andrew, Beth, Rachel, and Emory will live on Nutwood Street. We can certainly anticipate good things from them.
Beth enjoys ministry, and has a special interest in helping people grow in their faith and discipleship.
Her first day with our church was July 22, 2007.
We’re blessed to have the Fisher family in our congregation.
