People's lives are still being changed daily by the devoted servants of H.O.T.E.L., INC. Incorporated in June 1981 as an interdenominational organization, H.O.T.E.L., INC. (Helping Others Through Extending Love In the Name of Christ), has a two fold mission:
The first part of the mission is being achieved through the development of five programs:
1. Manna Mart - Food distribution & nutrition education
2. Solomon's Cellar - Retail store for donated items
3. Care Giving - Financial assistance
4. Burning Bush - Assistance to fire or natural catastrophe victims
5. Elisha's Closet - Lending library for health appliances
Clients are asked to donate time in return for the assistance they receive and detailed records are kept so clients can't misuse or abuse the system. Clients are always treated with Christian love and respect, yet not given unlimited "handouts."
The second part of the mission is achieved through volunteer hours and financial donations from the larger Christian community. Currently about 30 local churches and dozens of individuals are regularly supporting H.O.T.E.L., INC. Our limited expense budget of $65,000 does not allow us to adequately address all the needs that we would like to cover. Each year we must raise enough for the existing expenses and pray that additional funds will be donated so we can continue to grow and improve the ways we serves the needs of our community.
