The Presbyterian Church
of Bowling Green, Ky.

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN

On Monday, the 19th of May, the women of the church came together for their final meeting of the year.  Circle 3, under the chairmanship of Linda Stewart, served delightful refreshments.  Following a brief business session and the installation of new officers, our latest Honorary Life Membership was announced.

Names was Ann Patterson Huskey, a true daughter of the manse.   Her father, Robert Clark Patterson, was the last minister of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and the first minister of the newly united Presbyterian Church of Bowling Green.

Ann, with her sisters Pat and Mary Bob, was reared mainly in Illinois.  They moved here with their family in 1945.  Graduating from Bowling Green High and Western, she met and married her husband, Jay, while still in college.  they became the parents of three sons -- Robert, William, and John -- and the grandparents of six.

Jay's work with the Mead Paper Company resulted in several moves across the country but they were always involved in their church with both having served in leadership roles.  Following Jay's retirement, they returned to Bowling Green in 1989 and soon became active in this church.  Jay passed away in 1998.  Ann continues her activities in Circle 6, the Gordoneers, the Presbyterian women, and the Presbytery.  In addition, her interests also include several community concerns such as Friends of the Library and membership in P.E.O., Chapter O.

For all who know her, Ann Patterson Huskey serves as an outstanding example of all the many women who have served and loved our church from it's very beginnings.
