Unified Giving

Unified giving is divided into three categories: 66% is used for Presbyterian mission, 13.8% is used for mission in the Synod of Living Waters, and 20.2% is used for General Assembly mission.

The Presbytery portion of unified giving is divided among six mission priorities:

Looking at it another way, 75% of Presbytery unified giving provides salary and office expenses for the Executive and two part time office workers. They resource committees of the Presbytery and are, in effect, missionaries to small membership congregations.

The Synod portion of unified giving supports a variety of ministries in the Synod of Living Waters. In partnership with its twelve Presbyteries in four states (Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi) the Synod works to provide Christian ministry to and with students, faculty and administrators on 25 campuses. It also supports racial ethnic congregations in the twelve Presbyteries and assists Presbytery leadership people to do new church development and redevelopment. The Synod Voice, published six times per year, reports church and Presbytery activities throughout the four state area.

The General Assembly portion of unified giving helps to underwrite a variety of ministries that reach around the world. These ministries include support of our Seminaries, development and printing of church school curriculum and deployment of missionaries (like Gordon and Dorothy Gartrell in Brazil).
