SAVE THAT CHANGE! 3 Cents a Meal Collection returns Sunday July 30 during worship. Each person's suggested contribution since last collection (April 30) is $8.10, but we are grateful for all gifts! One third of our collection stays to benefit our food pantry, and the remainder goes to the Presbyterian Hunger Program, addressing the root causes of hunger at home and around the world. Watch for the children and youth with cans!
WE ENJOY GREAT BREAKFAST FELLOWSHIP ON SUNDAYS! And we would love YOU to help! Please provide a dish or two over the next two months. Click here for the sign up. Items should be brought by 9:15am. In many cases, you may drop your item off on Friday morning-just let Leslee Kirkconnell know it's here! We are also feeding more of our homeless friends each Sunday - so it's important to have good hospitality!
FALL RESOURCES: In Fellowship Hall there is a display of possible resources for both the Ellis and the Coffee and Conversation Classes. Members of those two groups are invited to look over these materials to help decide what will be studied. Items need to remain in Fellowship Hall. If you wish to take more time, just check with Leslee Kirkconnell. That way everyone can see what we have available and books aren't 'lost.'
SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL CONTINUES. Join us for fellowship and learning in Fellowship Hall. Breakfast items are available beginning at 9:15 (coffee fellowship as always begins at 8:30). Each week we'll explore scripture, share stories, deepen our connection to each other and God. All ages.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! THE PIG PICKIN’ is coming up on Sunday, August 13th, and we need volunteers who are willing to help with the event. Call or email Bobby Rabold (270-791-7404) / firstname.lastname@example.org or David Thomison (270) 392-1818 / email@example.com .
CIVILITY TRAINING WORKSHOP Saturday August 26, here in Fellowship Hall. It is important to be able to talk with others, and especially others with whom we might disagree. That can be difficult, but this workshop will help teach us to engage productive (and not divisive) conversations. Preregistration is required - click here for the form. Child care available. The workshop begins with registration at 8:30am and concludes by 3pm.
OUR GROUP RETURNS from Montreat on Saturday. We look forward to hearing all about their wonderful adventures and God-moments at Pig Pickin' in August.
ART EXHIBIT Our current exhibit features the artists of Gayle Levee's studio - including our own Diane Simmons. Stop by Fellowship Hall to see the latest show!
CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYERS The Friday contemplative prayers group has resumed meetings on Friday mornings at 10:30am at the church.
REMEMBER MANNA MART!
MEDIA INFORMATION If, on Sunday you have a fussy baby or are coughing, etc., the worship service may be viewed from the parlor via television (across the hall from the Sanctuary). If you would like to see the worship service online, please visit http://bgpres.org/media.php?pageID=22 .
