Summer Youth Mission Project

Hands of the Potter

One of the highlights of the year for your ministry to youth is our Summer Youth Mission Project. Our young people have traveled to the border of Mexico; to Homestead, Florida in the wake of Hurricane Andrew; to southwest Georgia, following regional flooding; to inner-city Chicago's First Presbyterian Church; to Birmingham, Alabama, following a devastating spring tornado; and in 1999, the Dominican Republic.

This benevolence mission of The Presbyterian Church is designed to provide an experience for high school young people in a setting which is unlike their own. The purpose of the project is to provide a mutual experience of work, study and fellowship among high school students so that they might become more sensitive to cultural diversity and needs in Christ's Church in the world around them.
