David Clarke
Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries
David Clarke joined the church in the summer of 2019. He started as our Youth resident as part of the Centre for Youth Ministry masters program. This allowed him to study and obtain a masters in Youth Ministry from Memphis Theological Seminary. He graduated from this program May 2021 and then moved into the full time position he is in now. David is originally from Northern Ireland growing up in a small costal town called Bangor. He moved from there directly to Bowling Green following a call he felt from God to pursue youth ministry. As showcased in his office David is big fan of all things comic related, as well as loving the Tv show The Office. He also is a big fan of sport in general with his favorite being Football (soccer) and supports Liverpool.

Dr. Wayne Pope
Choir Director
Wayne Pope joined our church staff as Choir Director in September 2011. Wayne is a Professor of Music at Western Kentucky University where he teaches voice and directs the opera theatre program. Wayne holds the D.M.A. in Voice Performance from the University of South Carolina. He is also a graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans, and Murray State University. He is an active recitalist and soloist, and has been featured with numerous orchestras and choral groups. In addition to his baritone voice, Wayne’s “other instrument” is the guitar, which he plays professionally. The Personnel Ministry and Session were impressed with Wayne’s background in choral music, his interest in multiple styles of music, his acquaintance with the music students and faculty at Western Kentucky University, his previous experience as a choir director, and his sense of call to his work. Dr. Pope and his wife Beth, who also teaches voice at WKU, have two children, a daughter, Caitlin who graduated from Western in 2008, and a son, Will who graduated from Western in 2014.
